A Letter To New + Future Members

To our new members,

Welcome!

I remember when I first joined Rotaract (at a friend’s recommendation) in 2018, I was mainly just confused. What in the world was a Rotaract? For that matter, what was a Rotary? It was all a little overwhelming, a little confusing, and a little worrisome. At the first meeting, there was announcement after announcement, event after event – was I expected to do everything? I didn’t think I had the energy or the time to be a good Rotaractor.

What I soon realized was that Rotaract really is what you make of it. You can be as involved or as uninvolved as you’d like (so long as you attend 80% of our meetings ). You can pick one committee to join (join mine, by the way – membership 4 life), or you can join all of them. You can plan every event, attend every event, just focus on volunteering or just spend time with a group of cool, involved, intelligent people. Rotaract has it all, making it really the only club you need to join – what a time-saver! I hope that in Rotaract, you can find your niche – is it planning million-dollar fundraisers? Is it making cool logos for Instagram? Is it being a friendly face at every meeting? Whatever it is, we’re here to help you find it.

Hugs, Mira
