Dear Rotary, Thank You

Dear Rotary,

I grew up in Stratford Ontario. Home of the Stratford Festival, Justin Bieber, and two Rotary clubs. Up until high school the two main facts I knew about Rotary were:

1.     They exist

2.     The Rotary Complex is where the farmers market is

Proof of Rotary’s existence is all over Stratford. They were leaders in establishing the Stratford Rotary Hospice, the Respite House, and more recently, their “Finish the Task, Wear the Mask” campaign starring Stratford icons Peter Mansbridge, Justin Bieber (‘s cardboard cut-out), and a statue of William Shakespeare.

Fortunately, I was better acquainted to Rotary through my high school’s Interact club. I was given the opportunity to travel to Ottawa for Rotary’s Adventures in Citizenship Program where I fell in love with the city. I met amazing an amazing group of people, some of whom I am still in contact with today. Most importantly, it made me decide to move to Ottawa for school which is one of the best decisions I have ever made.

I would not be where I am or who I am without Rotary and I cannot thank you enough.

 Sincerely,

 Andrew Famme
