Rotaract is Back!

The Rotaract Club of Ottawa has officially begun its 2019-2020 Rotary year!

The year kicked off with the annual Executive Retreat in early September, where our club’s executive committee members sketched out plans for the year. As Past President, I’m really looking forward to see this year’s executive team at work. If you haven’t yet, take a minute to meet them and read their bios.

It’s been great to get back into weekly Rotaract meetings again. I’m happy to see members I haven’t seen since April, but it’s been especially great to welcome new members into the Club. This year our members seem energized and excited to make a difference in our communities, and we’re already well on our way. Since regular meetings recommenced in September, our club has been busy with a range of activities. Thus far, we’ve cleaned up Jules Morin Park, volunteered at the Rotary Home’s Whiskey and Wine night, discussed civility with Up with People, and collected empty bottles and cans from uOttawa’s Panda Game pre-party.

I’m extremely excited for the many events, fundraisers, and other activities to come, including the International Service Committee’s Polio Plus bake sale on October 24th, our Gatineau Park Hike on Saturday Oct. 26th, the Community Service Committee’s Trick-or-Eat event on Halloween, and our upcoming Rotary mentorship program!
